Our friends at the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland are holding a lecture (6.30pm, Monday 13th October, St Augustine's Church, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh) on Sir Lawrence Weaver, ‘the first architectural critic in the modern sense of the word’, who worked to promote the work of Sir Robert Lorimer in the early years of the 20th century.
Lawrence Trevelyan Weaver's talk will focus on how the professional partnership and close friendship between Weaver and Lorimer benefited both, introducing Weaver to the romance of Scottish architecture and making Lorimer’s work widely known.
