'Shining a Light on Scottish Art at Kirkcaldy Galleries' - Jane Freel

Recording of an online lecture by Jane Freel, Collections Curator at OnFife, 10 February 2022.

Kirkcaldy Galleries has one of the best collections of 19th and 20th century Scottish paintings in the country. A poll found that Spring Moonlight by John Henry Lorimer is the favourite work of visitors to the galleries. In this talk, Collections Curator at OnFife, Jane Freel, focuses on this wonderful scene set in Kellie Castle, as well as other works by Lorimer. Jane explains why Kirkcaldy has come to have such an impressive collection and looks at other highlights held in Fife, such as paintings by William McTaggart and the Scottish Colourists.
