Cherished Plan, The Story of Puck’s Hut at Benmore, by David Gray tells the fascinating story of Sir Robert Lorimer's 1928 memorial to the eminent botanist, academic and visonary, Sir Isaac Bayley Balfour (1853 –1922). Puck's Hut, encapsulates and reflects a wide range of developments in Scotland's environmental awareness over the past 150 years. The many threads running through the narrative can be related to current concerns on climate change and effective management of land resources. This celebration of Bayley Balfour and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s oldest Regional Garden at Benmore is published to coincide with 350th anniversary of the RBGE.
Cherished Plan is available for £8 from all good booksellers and the RBGE shop.
